UK – The Multimodal Exhibition held at Birmingham’s NEC has rapidly become the ‘must visit’ event for suppliers as well as the familiar bunch of freight forwarders and shipping lines, port representatives’ etc. providing a chance for networking with contacts and offering an opportunity to promote new products and services. As usual one of the key attractions for many at the event will be the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) Pavilion.
With over 600 member companies, UKWA is the UK’s leading trade association dedicated to the third party logistics sector and its members control nearly 100 million square feet of warehousing space from some 1300 locations across the UK with the pavilion showcasing the talents and abilities of both UKWA members and associate members. The UKWA embraces all companies that provide warehousing or other logistics support services in the supply chain and the Association is open to retailers and manufacturers as well as companies from outside the UK. The Association also has over 100 Associate Members, companies that supply products or services to the warehousing and logistics community.
The Pavilion will be centred about a hospitality area where visitors to the show can learn more about the workings of the UKWA and the benefits of joining the association. The facility will also be somewhere where visitors can discuss their logistics or materials handling needs with UKWA Pavilion exhibitors away from the noise and bustle of the exhibition.
Among the third party logistics services specialists exhibiting within the UKWA Pavilion at this year’s event, which runs between April 29 and May 1, are: AV Dawson, Potter Logistics, Elddis Transport, Aztek Logistics, Paul Ponsonby and Miniclipper. Several suppliers of equipment and services to the industry will also be present, including: Flexi Narrow Aisle, Access Delta, Atlet, Briggs Equipment and The Rack Group.
It will again be a busy time of the year for the UKWA with preparations for the Association’s Annual Lunch and Awards to arrange before they once again are held at London’s Dorchester Hotel on July 2. Nominations for the Jungheinrich sponsored awards are still open for all nine categories and details can be seen here.
