WORLDWIDE - Transaid the international development agency founded by founded by Save The Children and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) aims to improve people’s quality of life in the developing world by making transport more available and affordable. Transaid also helps promote HIV, AIDS and road safety awareness and shares its specialist knowledge with the humanitarian aid sector.

Now Transaid week, which begins on Monday 5th July and lasts until the 9th, aims to raise at least £10,000 towards life-saving work in Africa and the developing world and you can make a difference if you fancy yourself as the next Chris Tarrant or Dara Ó Briain.

Transaid’s Quiz is a five round contest and contains a section on transport. Funds raised from Transaid Week will contribute towards projects such as an Emergency Transport Scheme for women and young children in Northern Nigeria. One in seven women in Nigeria die during childbirth and pregnancy. Transaid aims to reduce this figure by implementing emergency transport for pregnant women, making healthcare more accessible.

Transaid Week quiz participants will receive a complete quiz master’s pack, as well as a Transaid Week Action Pack with answer-sheets, quiz organization tips and various other fundraising ideas which will help boost the amount raised.
