Who is Off Where This Week Revealed as Staff News in Shipping and Logistics Changes Announced

WORLDWIDE – This week's round-up of staff changes and appointments starts with the renewal of Kitack Lim's appointment as Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for a second term of 4 years, from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023. His re-appointment was approved at the IMO Assembly meeting earlier this week.

SWEDEN – Volta Trucks a Swedish startup behind a new generation of fully electric trucks developed to be safe for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers, has announced Rob Fowler, current General Manager of CSR and Technical Planning at DPD group UK, as its new Chief Executive Officer from February 10, 2020. 

Additionally, from January 15, 2020, James McGoldrick formally joins Volta as Chief Financial Officer after working for the company since July as a financial consultant.

Volta Trucks recently appointed Max Ahlborn to the role of Chief Communication Officer. Prior to this role, Ahlborn was special advisor to Sweden’s Minister of Education, headed up the digital communication for the Swedish Green Party.

UK – CHEP has appointed Matt Quinn as its Vice President for Northern Europe. Quinn joined CHEP in 2003 as Business Manager, Automotive and has held a variety of Customer Solutions and Business Development positions in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2016 he became Country General Manager of CHEP India.

He replaces Helen Lane who became CHEP’s Senior Vice-President, Global Digital and Network Transformation in July 2019.

FRANCE – Sandrine Prieur has been appointed as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director for Getlink, effective since December 2. She joins the Getlink Executive Committee and will report directly to François Gauthey, Deputy CEO of the Group.

Prieur was most recently Deputy Director of Environmental and Sustainable Development at Groupe ADP, responsible for CSR performance and environmental and energy policy.

US – The Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) has announced the appointments of Rob Stuardi, Vice President and Managing Director at American Equity Underwriters, as the new Chair, and Mark Haller, President at Tri-Tec Manufacturing, as the new Vice Chair.

US – The Numina Group has announced Bob Fischer’s appointment to the company’s Warehouse Automation Technology team.

US – UPS has announced Wes Wheeler, currently CEO of Marken, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UPS, has been appointed President of UPS's global Healthcare and Life Sciences unit, effective immediately.
