WORLDWIDE – The weekly round-up of shipping and logistics staff changes starts in the air freight arena as Steven Polmans, Director Cargo and Logistics at Brussels Airport Company will take over as Chairman of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), with Sanjeev Gadhia, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Astral Aviation, as Vice Chairman from next month.

Polmans, who joined the TIACA Board in 2016, and has served as Vice Chairman for two years, will replace Sebastiaan Scholte, CEO of Jan De Rijk Logistics, who will step down on July 1.

GERMANY – CHILE – Hapag-Lloyd has announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Nicolás Burr, will leave the company on February 29, 2020, with the end of his contract to take over new projects in Chile. Burr was appointed CFO of Hapag-Lloyd and member of its Executive Board in March 2015 after the German shipper acquired Chile’s Compañía Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV), where Burr also held the CFO role. His successor will be announced in due course.

Additionally, the Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd has re-elected Michael Behrendt to the Supervisory Board and has named him as its Chair.

UK – US – Eagle Ocean Agencies, which operates Eagle Ocean Marine (EOM), the American Club’s fixed premium P&I facility, has announced that Richard Linacre is joining Shipowners Claims Bureau, in London, in a market liaison role.

US – Commonwealth Supply Chain Advisors has announced Perry Shore, a 25 year industry veteran, as a Supply Chain Consultant.

CANADA – Drone Delivery Canada has announced changes to its management team. Michael Zahra, previously Senior Vice President of Operations and Strategy, has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Former CEO and Director, Tony Di Benedetto will move into the position of Business Strategy continuing to focus on strategic business development initiatives for the Company.

Zahra will join the Board, alongside new Board member Vijay Kanwar. Kanwar currently serves on the board of the Business Development Bank of Canada and is a member of Audit Committee and Board Investment Committee. Di Benedetto will continue as an advisor to the Board of Directors.
