HONG KONG – Kerry Logistics Network has appointed John Parkes as its Managing Director – Integrated Logistics, with immediate effect. Based in Hong Kong, Parkes will oversee the overall management of Kerry Logistics’ global integrated logistics (IL) business.
An industry veteran, Parkes has over 35 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. With a specific focus on the Asia Pacific region, he has held operational leadership positions in major logistics businesses, specialising in multi-country business development and management, M&A and global account management. Prior to joining Kerry Logistics, he was the Executive Director – Head of Hong Kong/Taiwan and Global Business Development of LF Logistics.
GERMANY – Trans Global Projects Group (TGP) has appointed Martin Ollmann as an additional Managing Director for its German entities Trans Global Projects and Natco. Ollmann joins Christian Hager in managing the Group’s latest acquisitions in Germany with immediate effect.
DENMARK – Moscord has announced the appointment of Ross Tovey to the new role of Regional Sales Manager. Tovey boasts 15 years of sales experience within the ship supply segment, with eight at Seven Seas where he held the joint role of Regional Sales and Commercial Manager.
UK – The LOC Group has announced the appointment of Stephen Wood to the role of Marine and Salvage Consultant. Wood is a naval architect with a career spanning over 23 years in the maritime sector and he is currently a member of the panel of Special Casualty Representatives, a position he has held since 2013.
In 2012 Stephen joined LOC Singapore where he worked on many major casualties and wreck removals within the Middle and Far East. In 2016 he returned to the UK and founded Archimedean Limited, an advisory business to provide a range of surveys and consultancy services to the marine industry.
US – UPS has announced Suzanne Lindsay-Walker as its new Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President of Environmental Affairs. She succeeds Tamara Barker, a 32-year UPS veteran who recently retired. Lindsay-Walker will be responsible for policies and programmes to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, as well as overseeing the attainment of UPS’s sustainability goals to reduce the use of carbon-based fuels.
US – AIT Worldwide Logistics has announced Ryan Carter to the newly created role of Vice President, American Operations, based at AIT’s Miami office. Carter has served as AIT's Director of Operations - East Region since joining the company in 2015 and he has nearly 25 years of experience in the logistics industry.
All US regional Directors of Operations and the Managing Director of Mexico will report to Carter. Carter continues to report to Greg Weigel, Executive Vice President, Global Operations.
US – The Transportation Security Administration today announced the selection of a chair and Vice Chair for the Surface Transportation Security Advisory Committee (STSAC). Thomas Farmer, Assistant Vice President for Security for the Association of American Railroads (AAR) will serve as the committee’s Chair and Polly Hanson, Director of Security, Risk and Emergency Management of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) will serve as the committee’s Vice Chair.
