UK – Longstanding CEO of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA), Roger Williams, is to hand over the majority of his duties in the New Year. Having served as CEO for over 15 years, Williams will continue to work for UKWA until July 31, 2015. A successor has yet to be announced.

UK – Forth Ports has announced Lord Smith of Kelvin KT as Chairman, succeeding Michael Seymour who is to stand down from his role at the end of the year. Lord Smith is currently Chairman of SSE plc and the UK Green Investment Bank and is a non-Executive Director of Standard Bank Group. He will take up his chairmanship of Forth Ports on January 1, 2015.

UK – Pall-Ex has announced the appointment of Sue Hodgson as its new Director of Network Services. Also joining the palletised freight network is Michael Richardson, who takes up the role of security Manager.

UK – GAC Pindar has expanded the scope of the role filled by Murray Bishop, Superyacht Services Manager, to serve as a single point of contact for logistics and shipping support for the global luxury yachting community.

UK – Stolt-Nielsen has announced that founder, Jacob Stolt-Nielsen, will retire from the company’s Board of Directors on December 15, formally concluding his career at the company, 55 years to the date of its founding. He will continue as Honorary Chairman.

NORWAY – Due to a difference in views on the strategic direction of Odfjell SE, President and CEO Jan Hammer, has announced that he is to step down from his role with immediate effect. The company’s Board of Directors has named Tore Jakobsen as new President and CEO for an interim period.

NORWAY – The American Shipping Company has appointed Pål Magnussen as President and CEO, effective January 1, 2015. Magnussen was appointed CFO of American Shipping Company earlier this year. He will succeed Dag Fasmer Wittusen, who will be joining industrial investment company Aker as a Special Advisor.

US – Norbert Dentressangle has appointed Christophe Bigot at its new Country Manager for the US Air and Ocean Division.

US – UTi Worldwide has announced that CEO Eric Kirchner has resigned from his position and as a member of the Board of Directors. Effective immediately, Executive Vice President-Global Operations Edward Feitzinger, has taken up the role as CEO and has been elected by the Board to become a Member as a Class B Director.

MALAYSIA – Offshore oilfield services provider Bumi Armada has announced that CEO and Executive Director, Hassan Basma, has requested for an early release from his contract of employment. Citing family reasons, Basma will relinquish his positions from January 1, 2015, as well as stepping down from his directorships in other companies within the Group. Basma will continue in a consultancy position as and when required.

Chan Chee Beng has been re-designated as Executive Director and Acting CEO, with effect from January 1, 2015, whilst the search for an appropriate replacement takes place.
