US – The ArtLift (Art of Lifting) system produced by Actuall in the Netherlands is now available in the US via National Fleet Products which markets cargo lifting equipment, loading ramps and other aftermarket accessories for commercial vehicles. Compared to hydraulic or pneumatic systems, the ArtLift is extremely lightweight, but it boasts a 440-pound lifting capacity that accommodates more than 98% of common freight. A powerful 12-volt electric motor provides the needed torque to smoothly rotate a worm gear that effortlessly lifts appliances, furniture, industrial equipment, and a variety of other conventional and unconventional cargo items to a height of up to 3.28 feet.

Compared to a standard tail lift system fitted to a mid-size van or box truck the ArtLift tucks away neatly inside the vehicle as can be seen in this video. At just 11.81 inches, the ArtLift stores flat against sidewalls and bulkheads or behind front seats and occupies about the same amount of space as a hand truck. Folding the lifting equipment inside avoids all the problems associated with inclement weather and damaging during manoeuvring

The ArtLift’s large diamond-plate platform provides ample traction for loading and unloading cargo in moist or inclement weather. The platform’s bevelled edges make it easy to roll on loads using dollies, pallet trucks, carts and any equipment with rollers. The vehicle-side platform edge folds vertically 90 degrees to form a backstop that prevents payloads from traveling during the lifting process.

Weighing in at less than 200 pounds the system is easily installed and will fit any suitable vehicle with a deck height of less than 39.37 inches. National Fleet Products will be displaying the system in display booth 409 at the 2018 NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis, Indiana in March.
