SWITZERLAND – US – As one of the largest 3PL’s in the world, Minnesota headquartered freight forwarding group C H Robinson has had an established presence in Europe for the past two decades, and with its latest announcement, the logistics outfit demonstrates that there is still more territory for it to gain a foothold in, despite a pan European network which now incorporates over 1,000 staff spread throughout fifty two offices.
The latest addition to the Robinson portfolio is the establishment of an office in Basel which, due to its geographical position, demands the employment of multi lingual staff, sitting as it does on the borders of Switzerland, France and Germany. The new account managers are tasked with focusing on the new sales, account management and account operations sides of the business and leading the team is Ildiko Gergely, a 13-year transportation industry veteran. Gergely started her C H Robinson career in the Syracuse, NY office in 2000 and opened the company’s Budapest, Hungary office in 2002.
Recently, as reported here in our regular news coverage and appointment updates, the forwarder has recently acquired Apreo Logistics S.A. whilst also opening new offices in Rotterdam in the Netherlands and Istanbul, Turkey. In addition it has named Bryan Foe as president of Europe, Gary York as director of sourcing for Europe and Ivo Aris as director of European global forwarding. Speaking of this latest development new office manager Ildiko Gergely, commented:
