UK Freight and Logistics Group Reveals Details of Container Shipping and Break Bulk Cargo Agency

Partnership with Antwerp Forwarding Group Secures Indian Government Line Agreement

UK – INDIA – As revealed here last month Allseas Global Logistics has taken over the UK agency for the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) in partnership with Belgian agency De Keyser Thornton in Antwerp. An Indian Government enterprise, SCI specialises in FCL and break bulk freight across the Indian sub-continent. In doing so, it handles both government and commercial cargoes, through co-loading and chartered tonnage. Allseas are well placed as agents for SCI having several UK offices including Felixstowe and Tilbury.

SCI operates a full container load service which calls at Colombo in Sri Lanka plus Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India which collectively provide feeder connections to smaller ports in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. SCI also boasts numerous inland container depots throughout the Indian sub-continent and the company recently formed a consortium with Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC). Together the two shipping lines run an Indian Subcontinent - Europe Service (ISE) every week, using seven vessels round tripping in 56 days. The port rotation for ISE is:

Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Colombo – Salalah – Gio Tauro- Felixstowe – Hamburg – Antwerp –Gio Tauro – Mundra

Colombo to Felixstowe takes as little as 21 days and there is a Gothenburg call by SCI vessels subject to inducement whilst Mediterranean ports such as Genoa, La Spezia, Barcelona, Istanbul, Port Said, Tunis, Naples, are handled through transhipment in Gio Tauro. SCI also partners with MSC on the IPAK service taking up to 400 TEU’s on the 36 round trip route which serves:
