TAIWAN - SOUTH KOREA - POLAND – Polish customers of Panalpina can expect faster LCL services from Keelung and Busan in future after in house container carrier Pantainer Express Line announced their groupage cargo would reach the market two days earlier now transhipment at the freight and logistics company’s hub in Hamburg was to be sidestepped.
The NVOCC’s new direct consolidation services to Wroclaw for LCL cargo mean not only a 48 hour saving but also CO2 emission cuts of up to 6.9%. Wroclaw’s geographical position and its developed road infrastructure make Poland’s fourth biggest city a strategic location for optimal access to Lower and Upper Silesia, which are the most advanced industrial regions in Poland. The two new guaranteed weekly services have been launched to meet increased customer demands, especially in the automotive, high-tech and telecom sectors.
Less than container shipments will now take 32 days from Keelung and 38 days from Busan and the move is part of Panalpina’s long term strategy to grow business on key Asia trade lanes, especially on the Far East Westbound, Transpacific Eastbound, Intra Asia, Asia to Latin America and Asia to Middle East trade. Panalpina has already been offering direct LCL services to Poland from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Ningbo. Carsten Meyer, Global Head of Ocean Freight LCL, commented:
