AUSTRALIA – The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has launched the second ever TruckWeek in which the road haulage industry will strive to show Australia how ‘trucking delivers’. Running between the 19th and 25th August, the biennial event intends to showcase what trucking can do as well as promoting road safety and praising and rewarding the dedication of its faithful protaganists during a week of trucking industry events. Road freight operators can visit the TruckWeek website to find various information and resources, and register their own event. Chairman of the Australian Trucking Association, David Simon commented:

“Trucking delivers three-quarters of Australia’s freight, we have made great strides on safety and we have some of the most dedicated staff in the country. It’s time to show Australia how we deliver and celebrate trucking. You will benefit by promoting your business, and the whole industry will benefit from the profile created by the myriad of events across the country.

“The national TruckWeek site has a host of great event ideas, including awards to recognise your most dedicated and safety-conscious staff. If you register your event on the TruckWeek website, we’ll even send you official award certificates.”

One of the important features of TruckWeek, is this eligibility of trucking operators employees to have their contributions acknowledged by receiving the award certificates, which gives the opportunity for employers to honour dedicated staff in an official way and celebrate those who are long serving employees, for example, or to recognise any distinguished or exemplary acts of service to company or industry.
