Toll Wins Billion Dollar Defence Deal

AUSTRALIA – Toll Transitions, the relocation branch of Australian logistics giant the Toll Group, has been awarded the contract by the Australian Department of Defence to supply removal services to members of the armed services. Toll will also be responsible for additional administration involved in such moves such as recipient’s reimbursement, flights and temporary accommodation.

The contract is for a five-year period, to be followed by up to four one-year extensions at the discretion of the DOD. The deal is expected to generate revenue for Toll in excess of A$1 billion for the initial period, with as much as A$2 billion being made if the extensions are fully realised.

Speaking of the agreement Paul Little, Toll Groups Managing Director said that: “For the past 10 years Toll has provided Removal Services to the Australian Department of Defence. The inclusion of Relocation Administration Services into the contract is a significant addition and a further testament to the professionalism of the Toll Transitions team.

“Defence require over 22,000 removals and 23,000 relocations to be managed each year under this contract which is the largest of its type in Australia.

“The Tender win will entail substantial growth and opportunities for Toll Transitions with over 100 additional staff being recruited and a number of new offices being established around the country.”
