UK – The Port of Tyne has appointed Mark Stoner as Chief Financial Officer. He joins the UK port from his previous role as Group Finance Director at marketing services provider Communisis.
UK – Robert van de Weg has re-joined Volga-Dnepr as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He previously spent nearly three years in senior roles with the Group before deciding in 2017 to pursue his personal interests.
UK – Graeme Alexander has been named as the General Manager at marine consultants and ship surveyors, Pirie & Smith.
UK – TÜV SÜD has appointed Brian Austin as its new CEO for the UK and Ireland. He takes over responsibility, from retiring CEO Michael Valente, for seven specialist divisions.
GERMANY – AUSTRIA – Alexis von Hoensbroech, currently Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Cargo, is to become the new CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Austrian Airlines, a subsidiary of Lufthansa. Dorothea von Boxberg is to become the new Executive Board Member Product and Sales (Chief Commercial Officer) at Lufthansa Cargo following approval of the Supervisory Board, both changes effective from August 1.
Von Hoensbroech succeeds Kay Kratky, who will leave the company when he turns 60. The Supervisory Board first has to approve this proposal.
Von Boxberg is currently Vice President Global Sales Management at Lufthansa Cargo, with responsibility for areas including Global Performance Management, Pricing, Airmail, Product Management and Sales Processes.
EUROPE – SENEGAL – OMA has announced the appointments of Xavier Bouguet as Oil and Gas Operations Manager and Benjamin Hilly as Oil and Gas Business Development Manager, effective since April 1, based in Europe and Senegal.
US – Schneider National has announced Stephen Bruffett is to join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective April 29. He replaces Lori Lutey, who announced her retirement earlier in the year. Prior to joining Schneider, Bruffett served as EVP and CFO of Con-way.
US – Northrop Grumman has appointed Gabrielle Batkin as Vice President of Legislative Affairs, effective since April 9, reporting to Lesley Kalan, Corporate Vice President of Government Relations. She is responsible for implementing and overseeing all Northrop Grumman interactions with the US Congress and related organisations. Batkin previously served in senior staff positions on several Senate Committees, most recently serving as the minority staff Director for the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, which has jurisdiction over environmental protection and infrastructure issues.
US – Patriot Rail has announced the promotion of Alín Campián as Chief Commercial Officer over both the rail and ports divisions.
US – Mark Hooper has been named as the Vice President, Sales – North America Distribution Management, Hydraulic and Crawler Cranes at Manitowoc. He will report directly to David Hull, Vice President – Americas Sales.
US – Jaxport has announced Justin Damiano to the role of Director of Government Affairs.
US – JF Lehman and Company, a private equity firm focussed on aerospace, defence, and maritime sectors has appointed Caroline Bibb to its Operating Executive Board.
US – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber company has announced Nicholas Mitchell as Senior Director of Investor Relations, reporting to Christina Zamarro, who has taken on expanded responsibilities as Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, and Investor Relations.
CANADA – Michael Saunders has been reappointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), for a one year term (or until such time as a new CEO is appointed).
CANADA – The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) has appointed Elizabeth Barker as Vice Chair for a five year term.
CANADA – Ship-source Oil Pollution Fund and its sibling body, the Fund for Railway Accidents Involving Designated Goods have both cross-reappointed Anne Legars as Administrator, and Mark Gauthier, as Deputy Administrator, both for a five year term.
CANADA – Day & Ross has promoted Doug Tingley, Vice-President of Operations, to President of Day & Ross Freight.
SINGAPORE – Ceva Logistics has announced Axel Herzhauser as Vice President of Business Development for South East Asia.
HONG KONG – Seaspan has announced that David Spivak, Chief Financial Officer, is to step down from his role effective June 29, in order to pursue other opportunities. Spivak will continue in his current role until May 5, when he will become a Special Advisor to the President and CEO through to the end of June. Ryan Courson will be appointed CFO from May 5. Courson joined Seaspan in March 2018 as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.
