UK – Transport and logistics sector-focused law firm HFW has hired two of the UK's leading top white-collar criminal defence and investigations experts, Barry Vitou and Anne-Marie Ottaway. Barry and Anne-Marie advise corporations and individuals on all aspects of economic crime, including compliance, pre-investigations, investigations, and prosecutions relating to fraud, bribery and corruption, insider dealing, market abuse and money laundering.

The pair join HFW from Greenberg Traurig, where Barry was global co-chair of the US firm's white-collar defence and special investigations practice and headed its team in London. Anne-Marie previously spent 13 years at the UK's Serious Fraud Office, and in 2018 was appointed as the Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords’ Select Committee on the UK Bribery Act. The HFW team advises clients on law enforcement investigations all over the world, including the European Union, Russia and the British Overseas Territories.

UK – The Pallet Network (TPN) tells us Bob Richards has become Operations Director. He brings extensive pallet network and 3PL experience, having worked in European and UK logistics for more than 30 years. Former Operations Director, Mark Kendall, is now MD.

UK – MOROCCO – United Seaways has announced the appointment of Mr Amine Laghidi as Board Member in charge of strategy, public affairs, maritime and foreign trade. Mr. Laghidi’s career has led him to four continents where he held leading positions in the maritime, international logistics, finance, industry, infrastructures and energy private and public sectors.

Mr Laghidi has held roles with the AP Moller Maersk Group and Colas / Bouygues amongst others and he is currently a representative of the African and the Moroccan Business Associations including being President of the ASMEX-Rabat (Moroccan Exporters Association).

NETHERLANDS – Marc Boileau has joined FourKites®, the real-time supply chain visibility platform, as Senior Vice President, Sales and Carrier Operations, EMEA. Boileau is tasked with accelerating the company’s European expansion, bringing tenured supply chain experience and an aggressive strategy to build partnerships with both carriers and shippers. Prior to joining FourKites, Marc held leadership and commercial roles at supply chain visibility companies, including project44 and Transporean.

CANADA – Thordon Bearings, the water-lubricated and grease-free polymer bearing technology group, has appointed Anthony Hamilton as its new Technical Director. Reporting directly to CEO Anna Galoni, Hamilton will lead the Burlington-headquartered company’s engineering, CAD, and New Product Development teams. After graduating from Ireland’s Munster Technological University in 1985 with a degree in marine engineering, Hamilton served on tankers and bulk carriers before taking engineering roles ashore.

After moving to Canada and completing a Masters in Design and Manufacturing Engineering at McMaster University, Tony spent 10 years at Siemens AG in Hamilton, Ontario, then worked in the nuclear industry with Atomic Energy of Canada and Kinectrics Inc. He subsequently established the engineering consultancy Sthenos Consulting, working with clients that included the Royal Canadian Navy and Irving Shipbuilding.

US – Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan has announced the appointment of Rod Snyder to become EPA’s Agriculture Advisor. Snyder will lead outreach and engagement efforts with the agricultural community for EPA, working to advance the Biden-Harris environmental agenda for farmers and rural communities.

Snyder is nationally recognised for his leadership at the intersection of agricultural and environmental policy, and joins the Agency after serving as president of Field to Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, the largest multi-stakeholder initiative working to advance the sustainability of commodity crop farming in the United States. In that role, he forged science-based consensus among stakeholders across the food and agriculture value chain on issues such as climate change, water quality, biodiversity, and pest management.
