SPAIN – WORLDWIDE - Supply chain management company Ceva Logistics has announced the winners of its second annual Global Supplier Awards which were held last week in Spain. The awards are designed to recognise best practice and excellence among Ceva’s suppliers worldwide in all fields from multimodal freight provision to warehouse supplies and materials handling and to honour organisations which support its quest for what the company terms ‘Impeccable Execution’.

The event, hosted by Chief Information Officer Peter Dew, Chief Operating Officer Bruno Sidler and Chief Procurement Officer Simon Boggis, took place in Ceva’s multi user, eco-sustainable site in Ontigola, outside Madrid, and was attended by over fifty suppliers from around the world. The big winner was HCL Technologies, provider of IT and engineering services, which not only won the technology category but was also crowned Ceva’s Global Supplier of the Year in recognition of the support it has provided in the delivery of three of Ceva’s five strategic priorities in the last 12 months and true commitment to working in partnership. When giving out the award Peter Dew said:

“Over the past years that we have partnered with HCL, they have shown relentless passion and dedication to service excellence. Not only do they provide integrated IT support for Ceva on a global basis, they have demonstrated value in other areas of our business which has resulted in HCL recently being awarded a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) contract with Ceva in the U.S.”

In addition to the Global Supplier of the Year award, seven other suppliers were recognised as category winners at the award ceremony representing a spectrum of services delivered to the 3PL group and including materials handling suppliers such as Crown Equipment and Jungheinrich, racking and packing groups from the likes of Modulblok and Shinpack and air and multimodal cargo carriers such as Cathay Pacific, TNT and Vanguard Logistics. John Pattullo, Ceva’s CEO commented:

“The strategic importance of supplier relationships cannot be underestimated. Strong supplier relationships, enhanced by mutual understanding of each other’s business and operating models, can deliver competitive advantages to both parties. I’d like to congratulate all our 2012 winners. They have demonstrated their commitment to our company and their adherence to our principle of Impeccable Execution.”

Ceva Logistics itself also picked up its own award when it was named the overall winner for the ‘Logistics Provider of the Year’ category at the Payload Asia Awards 2012, held in Singapore recently which honoured a host of the regions carriers.
