US – XPO Logistics has announced Matthew Fassler as its new Chief Strategy Officer, effective November 26. He succeeds Scott Malat, who will be stepping down from his role on December 8 in order to spend more time with his family. Malat has served as the company’s CSO since 2011. Fassler’s career spans more than 20 years of senior experience with Goldman Sachs. During his tenure, he covered many of the world’s most prominent brands.

The company also announced that Tavio Headley has been promoted to Senior Director of Investor Relations, effective immediately. Headley has managed communications between the company and the financial community since 2013 as Director of IR.

US – Schneider National has announced the retirement of President and Chief Executive Officer Chirs Lofgren, following the company’s annual meeting of Shareholders in April 2019. Mark Rourke, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named to succeed Lofgren. Rouke began his career with Schneider in 1987 at the company’s operating centre in Ohio, as a driver. Over his 30 year tenure, he has held a variety of leadership roles.

US – The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) has announced that its first contested election in 18 years has yielded a new union leadership team led by William Adams, along with Vice President (Mainland) Robert Olvera Jr., Vice President (Hawaii) Wesley Furtado, and Secretary-Treasurer Edwin Ferris. Also elected were incumbent Coast Committeemen Frank Ponce De Leon and Cam Williams.

US – MonarchFx, a business unit of Tompkins International, has announced Stephen Bullard as its Vice President of Product Development and Deployment.

US – Dupré Logistics has announced three new Directors for the West Coast, Central and East Coast. Liz Giddings will head the East Coast operations, Randy Robles the Central, and David Joiner the West Coast.

US – Redwood Logistics has announced Scott Cousins as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer. Cousins most recently served as the Chief Information Officer at Roadrunner Transportation.

UK – Maritime UK has appointed Harry Theochari, Global Head of Transport at law firm Norton Rose Fulbright, as its new Chair, and Sarah Kenny, CEO at BMT Global, as Vice Chair. Both will start their two-year terms on December 1.

UK – Air Marshal Sir Richard Frank Garwood, KBE, CB, DFC, has been appointed Chairman of the Tri-Branch Management (TMB) Board. The TMB was formed to optimise coordination between the three accident investigation branches (the Air Accidents Investigation BranchMarine Accident Investigation Branch and Rail Accident Investigation Branch) of the Department for Transport.

EUROPE – WaterFront Maritime Services has announced the appointment of Tormod Ognedal as its new Business Manager for Europe. After 17 years with Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS) as Senior General Manager and having gained over 30 years of experience in international shipping & logistics, Ognedal has been appointed to oversee the expansion of WaterFront's client portfolio across the continent.

SINGAPORE – Moscord has announced Lars Rosenkrands, former CEO of SevenSeas Group and CEO and Founder of Wave Shipping, as it new Commercial Director, based out of the firm's Singapore hub.
