Shipping News Feature WORLDWIDE – This week staff relocations in logistics, shipping and transport start in the States as railroad giant Genesee & Wyoming (G&W) has announced a series of changes to its senior management team, starting with Michael Miller, who has been promoted to President, North America, effective immediately. The heads of G&W’s seven North American operating regions and Chief Commercial Officer, North America, now report to Miller, who previously served in the Chief Commercial Officer role since joining G&W in 2010.

Home and overseas David Brown continues in his role as Chief Operating Officer with responsibilities for the safety, mechanical, engineering, dispatch, service design, and customer service departments in the United States as well as operating oversight of G&W’s international operations in the UK/Europe, Australia and Canada. Brown previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CSX Transportation prior to joining G&W in 2012.

Mike Peters has been promoted to Chief Commercial Officer, North America, leading G&W’s corporate commercial, industrial development, real estate, fleet management and commercial support teams. Peters previously served as Senior Vice President of Industrial Development and Real Estate since joining G&W in 2013.

SWITZERLAND – Ceva Logistics has announced the appointment of Serge Corbel as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective October 15. Peter Waller, Group CFO since 2016 will pursue other career opportunities outside of the company.

Waller helped in preparing Ceva Logistics for the demands of the capital market, but it was concluded that a different background and comprehensive experience in logistics are required for supporting the company in further implementing its business strategy and for transforming the group and bringing it to the next level.

Corbel has been in the logistics industry for more than 30 years and has with CMA-CGM, which bought a 25% share in Ceva earlier this year, for more than 25 years.

ITALY – Crane Worldwide Logistics has announced the appointment of Marco Nazzari to serve as Regional Vice President for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Based out the company’s Italian office, Nazzari will report directly to President and CEO, John Magee. He most recently work at Ceva where he held to role of Global Head of Freight Management Sales.

UK – MetaPack has announced the John Clem, Chief Product & Strategy Officer at Stamps.com will also act as General Manager of MetaPack, effective since September 28, following the company’s acquisition of Stamps.com. Clem has been on the senior management team at Stamps.com for fifteen years and prior to his most recent role, which he took up in 2012, he was Vice President, Product and Service Operations for six years.

UK – AFRICA – The DHL UK Foundation has appointed Perry Watts to the position of Chairman. The former Chief Executive of DHL Supply Chain in the UK and Ireland will be focused on fulfilling the aims of the charity which supports disadvantaged children and young people.

The charity invests over £1.6 million annually in charitable activities, grants and donations and reaches over 30,000 children each year. Funding is focused on those aged between 5 and 25 years and places an emphasis on helping children to get the most out of education, boosting their employability and engaging them in a meaningful way with the DHL business. Watts joined the Board of DHL UK Foundation in 2017.

DHL Global Forwarding announced the appointment of Egidio Monteiro to the role of CEO, Southern Africa, effective since October 1. He will report to Daniella De Pauw, CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, Sub-Saharan Africa. A DHL veteran who has amassed over 17 years of industry experience, Monteiro was most recently Managing Director of DHL Express in Angola, a role he has held since 2014.

SINGAPORE – Invengo has announced the appointment of Albert Wu as Chief Executive Officer of Invengo's International Business. Wu is replacing Jiann Hsieh, who resigned his position citing personal reasons.

US – Mohawk Global Logistics has announced the appointment of Anthony Pagnotto as Vice President for the Midwest Region he most recently served as General Manager, Global Forwarding at CH Robinson.

US – Dupré Logistics has announced the appointment of Amy Armstrong as Director of Business Development in the company’s Dedicated business group Sales Team. She will work out of the Greater Houston area.
