In addition, three incumbent CSX directors intend to complete their service for the Board at or before the conclusion of the 2017 annual meeting. As a result, the size of the Board will be 13 members. CSX’s current Presiding Director, Edward J. Kelly, III, will become Chairman of the Board and Hilal will become Vice Chairman.
US – American Airlines (AA) has promoted Rick Elieson to President – Cargo overseeing all aspects of AA’s worldwide freight business. He will report to Jim Butler, who recently succeeded Art Torno as Senior Vice President – International and Cargo, following Torno's retirement. American Airlines also announced several other appointment with the retirements of Tim Ahern as Vice President of Customer Experience at the end of April, and Terri Pope as Vice President of Charlotte Hub Operations, effective in June.
With Pope's retirement, Dec Lee will assume the role of Vice President – Charlotte Hub Operations, leading all aspects of AA’s operations at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. John Beavers has been promoted to Vice President – Engineering, Quality & Training to assume Lee's previous role.
JonCarlo Gulbranson has been promoted to Vice President – Global Reservations. He will oversee the company’s reservations operations, including its 21 locations across the globe. This role was previously held by Tim Lindemann, who now oversees the airline's Customer Planning organisation.
US – Conrail has announced Timothy Tierney as its new President and Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1. Tierney succeeds Ronald Batory, who is retiring after nearly 46 years in the railroad industry.
US – Meritor has announced David Parry to the Board of Directors, as a Class III Director with a term expiring at the 2018 shareholder meeting. With his appointment effective April 20, Parry will serve as a member of the Compensation and Management Development Committee.
US – CDK has announced the appointment of Ron Frey as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Joining in April, Frey will replace Malcolm Thorne, who is retiring after more than 15 years with the company.
US – CANADA – Lise-Marie Turpin has announced her decision to retire from her role of Vice President of Air Canada Cargo, effective April 28. Tim Strauss, former VP of Cargo at Hawaiian Airlines, has been named to take over from Turpin, effective April 3, working closely with Turpin during the transition period leading up to her retirement. Strauss will report to Marcel Forget, Senior Vice President of Commercial Strategy, until Forget's retirement at the end of May.
AUSTRALIA – David Irwin has announced his resignation as CEO of Pacific National. Irwin leaves the role having decided to put his family first but will stay on until a successor can be found, and after that, will most likely take up an Advisor role within the company.
JAPAN – Dr Toshiyuki Shigemi has been appointed as Executive Vice President and Executive Director of ClassNK, effective since March 7. He replaces Yasushi Nakamura, who stepped down as Senior Executive Vice President and has been named as an Advisor to the Society.
ISRAEL – ZIM has announced the appointment of Eli Glickman as its new President and CEO, effective July 1. Glickman will replace Rafi Danieli, who has led ZIM for the past 8 years.
Guy Eldar has also announced his intention to leave the company and his role of Chief Financial Officer, after four and a half year in the role.
UK – Tantalum has announced the appointment of Ozgur Tohumcu as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, replacing Cédriane de Boucaud Truell, who takes up the role of President, while also remaining on the Board as a key investor Director.
