Staff Changes in Global Freight Forwarding and Logistics Related Companies This Week

GERMANY – CAMBODIA – Deutsche Post has appointed Tim Scharwath to the Board of Management, responsible for DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. Scharwath joins the company from Kuehne + Nagel where he has been a Member of the Board responsible for global air freight, and will join DHL in the next 12 months. In the interim, Deutsche Post DHL CEO Frank Appel retains responsibility for the division.

DHL Global Forwarding has also announced Oliver Wu as Country Manager, Cambodia. Wu is based in Phnom Penh and reports directly to Clement Blanc, Managing Director, DHL Global Forwarding Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

US – INTTRA has announced Jeff White as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy, reporting to John Fay, INTTRA's CEO.

US – XPO Logistics has announced Ramon Genemaras to the newly created position of Chief Transformation Officer, effective immediately.

US – Alaska Air Group has announced the promotion of two senior leaders. Ben Minicucci was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of Alaska Airlines, and David Campbell was appointed Chief Executive Officer and President of Horizon Air.

AMERICAS – GAC North America has appointed Carlos Arrieta as Regional Commercial Director – Oil and Gas, responsible for developing its network of agents and general cargo throughout the South American region.

UK – SOMALIA – Brigadier Robert Magowan CBE, an officer from the British Royal Marines, has been appointed as Operation Commander for the EU Naval Force Somalia- EU NAVFOR Operation Atalanta. Brigadier Magowan will replace Major General Martin Smith MBE and is expected to take up his duties on June 3.

UK – JF Hillebrand has named Sebastien Desreumaux as its new Managing Director, effective since May 16. Prior to joining JF Hillebrand, Desreumaux was Commercial & Marketing Director Transport Solutions Europe for XPO Logistics.

SPAIN – Ceva Logistics has appointed Alain Souto to the position of Vice President Global Contract Logistics – Aerospace Sector Operations. Based in Madrid, Spain, Souto will report to Chief Operating Officer – Contract Logistics, Brett Bissell. Souto joins CEVA from Kuehne + Nagel where he was most recently Director of Industry and Aerospace Logistics. 

TURKEY – Yilport has promoted Chief Operating Officer Christian Blauert to the role of CEO, effective June 1. Yilport is now on the look-out for a new COO and an ominous sounding Senior Terminal Execution Director.
