Staff Appointments Go Ahead for Logistics Groups Despite the Pandemic

UK – The UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has announced that Neil Bowker, Commercial Director of Bowker Group, one of the longest serving members of the Association, has accepted the role of Vice Chair on the UKWA Management Board. Bowker will be supporting Nicola Ridges-Jones, Managing Director of MS Holdings, in her role as Chair of UKWA.

Two more members joining the UKWA Management Board are Ian Henderson, Group Property Director at Wincanton and Gary Whittle, Commercial Director at Meacher’s Global Logistics.

UK – Joshua Hutchinson and Steve Regis, ex Royal Marines and who were previous co-founders of ARX Maritime, have become part of ARX Mouldings, the company having been acquired by Crompton Mouldings Limited. The new company is to operate in the maritime sector.

UK – Unipart Group has announced the appointment of Darren Leigh as Group Chief Financial Officer effective from the beginning of May. Leigh's recent experience is in the technology sector at both Sage and Finastra, having previously worked in the rail industry with Freightliner and, before that, gaining experience in the automotive sector working with Inchcape.

He replaces Jonathan Chitty, who will be leaving the company.

UK – Europa Worldwide has appointed Rob Jones as its first Non-Executive Director.

UK – FRANCE – At its recent Combined General Meeting, Getlink approved the renewal of the term of office as directors of Perrette Ray, Colette Lewiner, Peter Levene, Jean-Pierre Trotignon, the ratification of the co-option of Giancarlo Guenzi, as well as the election of Jean-Marc Janaillac and Sharon Flood as independent directors, respectively to replace Colette Neuville, whose term of office ended at the end of the General Meeting, and Philippe Vasseur with effect from 30 September.

UK – GERMANY – DB Cargo has announced, after a lengthy process, the appointment of DB Cargo UK’s current Chief Financial Officer, Andrea Rossi, will become the company’s new CEO from September 1. He succeeds Hans-Georg Werner, who informed the group back in 2015 that he would retire when his current four-year contract came to an end later this year.

NETHERLANDS – Ronald Paul, Chief Operating Officer of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, will be retiring from senior management in September, after eight years in this role. At the request of the Supervisory Board, Paul will remain available as an adviser to the Port Authority for another six months.

He will be supporting the company with a number of dossiers, including the current public health crisis and its consequences. Paul will be taking leave of the Port Authority after more than 35 years in its service.
