INDIA – Gati Limited, an express logistics and supply chain solutions provider from the Allcargo stable, has announced the appointment of Pirojshaw Sarkari as CEO. A Chartered Accountant by profession, in his previous tenures, Mr Sarkari, who brings in decades of leadership experience, is known for setting up the business and organisation of UPS in India, and also guiding Mahindra Logistics to unprecedented levels of growth.

Bala Aghoramurthy, Deputy Managing Director, Gati-KWE, has decided to take a break from his corporate executive role and will hand over Gati’s leadership to Mr. Sarkari over the next few weeks.

UK – BMT has welcomed Catriona Savage to the role of Technical Assurance Director, responsible for its global technical authority. Catriona rejoins BMT from a role as the Chair in Naval Architecture and an Honorary Professor at University College London. Previously, she was the Technical Director for BMT’s UK defence business.

UK – Xpediator is pleased to announce that Glen Boyce has been appointed as Managing Director of Delamode Anglia Limited, a subsidiary of Xpediator’s UK Freight Forwarding division. In addition the group has named Lucy Wain as Xpediator plc’s Group Digitalisation Director.

UK – The Sonardyne Group has announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Stephen Fasham as Chief Executive Officer, taking over from John Ramsden who is stepping down from the role ahead of his retirement. Effective 1st September 2021, Stephen will move from his current role as Chief Operating Officer, with John remaining on the Board in an advisory capacity.

John and Stephen have enjoyed a close working partnership since Stephen joined in 2013. They will continue to work together over the coming months, ensuring a seamless transition as Stephen assumes the leadership role.

UK – Law firm Addleshaw Goddard has added to its transport team with the addition of Ports and Terminals expert Ian Le Pelley. Formerly Group Deputy General Counsel for DP World, one of the largest port operators around the globe, AG says Ian has unparalleled expertise in the ports sector. Ian will be joining AG's Edinburgh office and AG says this move is a firm commitment to boosting its international ports practice.

With significant cross-border M&A experience, and having acted on a number of $1bn+ projects worldwide, Ian's strong links with the global ports community will be another boost to Addleshaw's ongoing international growth strategy. Having worked extensively in the Middle East, as well as in other key global markets including Africa and Hong Kong, he is well-placed to complement and enhance AG's current offering.

UK – InfraStrata plc has elected former First Sea Lord & Chief of Naval Staff of the Royal Navy, Sir Jonathon Band to its Board of Directors. The company is parent to Harland & Wolff. Following his retirement from the Royal Navy, Sir Jonathon has held numerous non-executive positions at Lockheed Martin UK, Babcock International Group, National Museum of the Royal Navy and Survitec Group Ltd. Sir Jonathon is currently a Non-Executive Director of Carnival Corporation, the NYSE & LSE listed global cruise operator.

US – Northrop Grumman Corporation, which works in the fields of space, aeronautics and cyberspace has elected Graham Robinson to its board of directors. Robinson is the senior vice president and president of STANLEY Industrial, a business segment of Stanley Black & Decker, a position he has held since April 2020.

Robinson previously served as an executive with Honeywell for seven years, including roles as president of Honeywell Industrial Safety, president of Honeywell Sensing and IoT, and chief marketing officer of the company’s Automation and Controls Solution division. He also held leadership roles at Micron Technology, Samsung Electronics, AT&T Bell Laboratories and Motorola.

US – Caster Concepts Inc. manufacturer of industrial wheels and casters, has announced Jackson native Doug Backinger as their vice president of sales. Committed to fostering local talent, Caster Concepts first engaged Backinger, a native of Jackson, Mich., as a college intern in 2004 and then as a full-time member of its engineering team while completing both a bachelor’s and master’s in engineering and manufacturing.

For the past 10 years, Backinger has led the Quality Department at Caster Concepts while leading ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certifications for Aerol, the company’s latest acquisition. Since January 2020, Backinger served as the director of sales, shaping the company’s marketing efforts to meet customer needs and expectations.

SWEDEN – Seably, the global online marketplace for bespoke maritime training, sees Rikke Louise Haugen Olsen become Seably Business Development Director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Rikke is a strong champion for technology and the empowerment of seafarers through accessible personal development and training.

Rikke is a seasoned Client Director who has occupied senior roles in sales and development in both shipping and commercial operations. Rikke qualified as a dual officer from Denmark’s leading institution for marine education, the Maritime School Svendborg International Maritime Academy (SIMAC). She is also a graduate of the prestigious Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and highly skilled in Customer Service, Coaching, Customer Satisfaction, Sales Management, HR and Change Management.
