Southern Air Open German Office to Service European Air Freight Market

COLOGNE, GERMANY – Cargo airline Southern Air announced yesterday that it has opened a new office in Cologne, Germany to serve the German and Western Europe air freight sectors. The office will be led by Oliver Gritz, who joined Southern Air in April as Managing Director, Europe.

Mr. Gritz said: “The opening of our new office in Germany reflects the considerable opportunities Southern Air is seeing in the country and across Western Europe. There is considerable demand for our aircraft and service offerings and, as such, we are already engaged in dialogue with a number of exciting potential partners. We look forward to continue growing our business in this region and to a successful future.”

Mr. Gritz joined Southern Air from DHL Express where he held various senior management positions, including Executive Vice President, Board Member and Chief Financial Officer of DHL Express.

Southern Air currently operates a fleet of 13 Boeing 747 and two new 777 freighter aircraft, the first ACMI operator in the world to operate the new Boeing 777 Freighter.
