UK – GAC Marine Logistics (GML), a division of the Dubai based shipping group GAC World, have appointed a dedicated marketing and sales manager for the European area. Based in the United Kingdom, Jamie McPhail’s key responsibilities will be to reinforce the GML brand and promote its specialised ship spares solutions to ship owners and management companies in the region. As the key liaison person, he will also supervise the requirements of the clients to ensure smooth and seamless “door-to-deck” delivery of ship spares.

GML’s Managing Director Chris Steibelt explained:

“Our success with our spares logistics services in other markets has raised questions as to why we did not have a dedicated resource in North Europe so I’m very happy to now have Jamie with us. His in-depth understanding of the needs of purchasing managers and technical managers will serve him well when it comes to the complex business of managing spares logistics. When added to GML’s existing core strengths supported by GAC global ships agency and logistics services, you have a very powerful combination for the benefit of our clients.”

Hailing from a sea-faring background, McPhail brings to the position over two decades of management and operations experience in the maritime and logistics industry. His broad experience gives him the added advantage to spearhead GML’s business in the maritime market. This extends GML’s network of already established international offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, India, The Netherlands, Greece, Germany and Brazil.
