Appointments Continue Despite the Virus

UK – Pall-Ex has appointed Colin Hawkins to the newly created position of Owned Operations Director. In his new role, Hawkins will oversee all Pall-Ex’s owned operation depots including: Cranleigh Distribution Services, Pall-Ex London, Cornwall-based Intercounty Distribution and Shears Bros (Transport) Ltd in Bournemouth, as well as sitting on the UK operating board.

He previously held the role of General Manager at Shears, which was purchased by Pall-Ex in 2017, and brings 30 years of logistics industry experience to the position.

UK – GB Railfreight (GBRf) has announced the appointment of Alex Kirk as General Infrastructure Manager. He began his new role earlier in the week. Kirk joins GBRf from Network Rail where he started his career as a graduate in the Commercial Freight team.

UK – Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has announced the appointment of Stuart Browne as General Manager of its UK operation.

GERMANY – Elatec has named Gerhard Burits to its top management team as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer. He takes over from Thomas Graf, who will now focus on Elatec's digital transformation, automation, and IT.

EUROPE – ECG, the Association of European Vehicle Logistics, has named its new Board which was elected on May 15, at its annual General Assembly. President Wolfgang Göbel, Chief Sales Officer, Mosolf, and Vice-President Bjorn Svenningsen, Director Sales & Marketing, UECC have unanimously received a new mandate for a further two-year term.

Other board members serve a one-year term at ECG and the following stood again and were duly re-elected: Marc Adriansens (ICO), Serge Agneray (Groupe Charles André), Costantino Baldissara (Grimaldi Group); Jordi Casals de Pages (Bergé), Krzysztof Dakowicz (Adampol), Mats Eriksson (Axess Logistics), Mark Hindley (BCA), Ömer Gürsoy (Me-Par), Paul Steininger (Hödlmayr International) and Xavier Vazquez (Noatum Terminals).

Due to changing roles three board members relinquished their seats during the year; Michael Bünning (BLG Automobile Logistics), Jean-Michel Floret (Groupe CAT) and Christian Lang (DB Cargo Logistics).

Their positions have been filled by; Emmanuel Arnaud (GEFCO), Andrew Bauer (BLG Automobile Logistics); Antoine Redier (TRAMOSA – TRADISA Group). This brings the current total board back up to the maximum permitted 15 members.

CANADA – LOC Group has announced the appointment of Frans Schouffoer, as Senior Marine Surveyor at LOC Canada. Schouffoer who is based in LOC’s Halifax office in Nova Scotia, is a marine engineer surveyor, with extensive seafaring experience, including as a former-dual officer, First Engineer and Chief Officer.

US – Norfolk Southern Corporation (NS) has announced organisational changes within its Finance Division. Jason Zampi will become Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, a new department within the company's Finance Division. Zampi currently is Vice President and Controller. He has been with Norfolk Southern for nine years, serving in leadership roles with finance, treasury, and accounting.

Clyde Allison Jr. will become Vice President and Controller, with responsibility for all accounting functions. Allison currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer. He has been with the company for 26 years, with roles of increasing responsibility in audit and compliance, material management, accounting, and treasury.

Chris Neikirk will become Vice President of Treasury and Investor Relations. Neikirk currently is Assistant Vice President Finance, Cost, and Treasury. He has been with the company for 26 years, progressing through roles in marketing, energy and properties, finance, treasury, and the Chair's office. Pete Sharbel, current Director Investor Relations, will report to Neikirk in this new role.

Zampi, Allison, and Neikirk will report to Norfolk Southern Chief Financial Officer Mark George. The changes become effective June 1.;
