UK – Heathrow Airport has announced Chris Garton currently Director of Asset Management with Associated British Ports, will become its new Chief Operating Officer, effective in the Spring.
UK – Nusrat Ghani MP has been named as the UK's new Maritime Minister, following her appointment as a Parliamentary Under Secretary at the Department for Transport and Assistant Government Whip, earlier this month.
UK – Transport for the North has named Barry White (not that one) as its new Chief Executive, effective since January 10. He joins from his role as Chief Executive at Scottish Futures Trust where he led the organisation in improving the planning and delivery of infrastructure investment and asset management in Scotland.
UK – Jungheinrich UK has announced Luuk Sneijders as its new Managing Director. Previously Managing Director of Jungheinrich Russia, Snijders succeeds Jan Lorenz, who will return to a senior management position at the company’s headquarters in Germany.
UK – ReBound, returns management platform, has named Raju Dhanhoa as Operations Director.
UK – Whistl has named Jason Powell as its new IT Director.
NETHERLANDS – DNV GL Oil & Gas has appointed Ben Oudman as Regional Manager for Continental Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, India and Africa. Oudman took up the new position on January 1 and joins the Executive Leadership Team for DNV GL’s Oil & Gas business area.
He succeeds Liv Hovem, who has taken the role of CEO in DNV GL - Oil & Gas. Oudman’s successor as Country Manager for DNV GL- Oil & Gas in the Netherlands is Johan Knijp.
FRANCE – CMA CGM has announced the appointment of Rajesh Krishnamurthy as Group Senior Vite President IT and Transformations, effective February 12. Previously, Krishnamurthy was President - Head of Europe and Global Head Energy, Utilities, Telecommunications & Services of Infosys
GERMANY – Jochen Müller has taken up the role of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Dachser’s Air & Sea Logistics on at the beginning of the month. He replaced Thomas Reuter, who retired at the end of last year after 39 years at Dachser. Müller joined Dachser on October 1, 2016 to prepare for his duties as COO.
GERMANY – Verdion has appointed Georg Starck to the position of Chief Investment Officer. Based at Verdion’s newly-opened Frankfurt office, he will be responsible for growing the firm’s pan-European investment platform.
SWITZERLAND – The Bertshci Group has appointment Jan Arnet as its new CEO, effective August 1. Hans-Jörg Bertschi, majority shareholder, Chairman of the Board, and current CEO, will focus on the Chairmanship and on strategic projects for the Bertschi Group.
Santiago Gonzalez will lead the Business Unit Liquid Logistics Europe effective the same date. Gonzalez is currently head of the Bertschi subsidiaries in Spain and Portugal.
NORWAY – Navtor has appointed Anders Holme to the role of Chief Technology Officer. Holme will manage teams that work across offices in Norway, Singapore, Japan, Sweden, Russia, the US and UK.
FINLAND – The Evac Group has appointed Tomas Michelsson as President of Offshore and Merchant Vessel Business, effective since January 8. Also a member of the Evac Group Management Team, Michelsson is based in Espoo, Finland, and reports directly to Tomi Gardemeister, President and CEO of Evac Group.
EUROPE – David Binks, FedEx Express Europe President and CEO of TNT has announced his intention to retire, effective in June. Bert Nappier, currently FedEx Express Senior Vice President of Finance – International, will succeed Binks in the role effective June 1, 2018.
Helena Jansson, a more than 20-year FedEx veteran, will succeed Nappier as FedEx Express Senior Vice President of Finance – International.
US – Russell Hoch has been appointed as the new Senior Vice President of Sales for the North American less-than-truckload (LTL) business at XPO Logistics. He reports directly to Tony Brooks, President of XPO’s LTL business in North America.
US – Norfolk Southern has named John Scheib as Executive Vice President of Law and Administration and Chief Legal Officer, effective March 1.
Additionally, Jennifer Scanlon has been elected a Director of Norfolk Southern, effective January 22. She has been appointed to the Compensation Committee and Finance and Risk Management Committee of the Norfolk Southern Board and will serve as an Independent Director.
US – Tiger Cool Express has announced two additions to its leadership team, with Leslie Baird named as Chief Commercial Officer and Don Aiken as Executive Vice President of Operations.
US – Jaxport has announced Frederick Wong Jr as Chief Operating Officer, effective from February 5. Additionally, David Kalata has been named Director of National Container Accounts, responsible for developing new and existing container cargo business with accounts throughout the US.
US – Transportation Office Administrator at the Grimes Trucking Company, Dixie Moody has been named First Vice President of the Transportation Club of Jacksonville (TCJAX).
US – The Tweddle Group has announced the promotions of Tina Stuart has Chief Operating Officer, succeeding Brian Suszek who has assumed the role of Chief Business Development Officer.
US – PurePower Technologies has announced Noel Ranka as its new Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. He reports directly to President and CEO Jerry Sweetland.
US – Daseke has announced the appointment of Scott Wheeler, Chief Financial Officer at Deseke, as the company’s new President. He succeeds company founder Don Daseke, who will continue to serve as CEO and Chairman. Wheeler will remain as CFO.
