UK – Appointments announced recently in the shipping and logistics sector start with the news that the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) has appointed Nicola Ridges-Jones, Managing Director of MS Holdings (South), as the association's new Chair. She succeeds Stobart Aviation's Graeme Undy, who has served in the role since 2016. 

UK – Eddie Stobart Logistics has announced that Alex Laffey has left his role as Chief Executive of the Group, effective immediately. Sebastien Desreumaux, currently CEO, iForce and Head of Contract Logistics and Warehousing at Eddie Stobart, will take over as Chief Executive, and is expected to be appointed to the Board in due course.

Desreumaux joined Eddie Stobart in 2018, has extensive experience in the logistics sector, including 20 years spent with Norbert Dentressangle (now part of XPO Logistics).

UK – Silverstream Technologies has announced the appointment of three new Directors. David Price joins as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Price is the former Chief Executive of Chemring Group. From 2000 to 2005, he was Managing Director, Naval Marine for Rolls-Royce Group, responsible for the supply and maintenance of propulsion systems and equipment.

Jesper Lok has held leadership roles with Maersk Group for 25 years and was CEO of leading towage company Svitzer. More recently, he was Chairman of bulk and gas shipping company J. Lauritzen. Michael Greville is a solicitor and has acted as the company’s General Counsel since 2015.

Additionally, Matthew Negus joins Silverstream as Chief Financial Officer, whilst Jon Wheeler commences as Programme Director.

UK – Chevin Fleet Solutions has announced Will Wycks, former Head of Transformation, Data & Customer Excellence at BT Fleet Solutions, and Ray Creamer, Jaguar Land Rover’s previous International IT Demand & Operations Manager, have joined its Board of Directors.

Wycks joins the company as Global Marketing Director, while Creamer will take on the role of Global Delivery Director.

GREECE – Sailors’ Society has welcomed a new Greek Ambassador to its fold ahead of the maritime charity’s plans to further expand its existing work in Greece. Costis Frangoulis, CEO, President and Founder of Franman, is the latest industry figure to lend his support to the 201-year-old welfare organisation.

ISRAEL – ZIM Integrated Shipping Services has announced that Yoav Doppelt, who was appointed as a Director of the company on behalf of Kenon Holdings, has ended his services, effective since July 1. Kenon appointed Yair Caspi as a Director of ZIM, effective August 21. Kenon Holdings has a 32% share in ZIM.
