US – UPS has named Carol Tomé as UPS Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1. David Abney, the current Chair and Chief Executive Officer, will remain in his role until June 1 when he will become Executive Chair of the Board. He will retire from the UPS Board on September 30. In order to ensure a smooth transition and successful peak season, Abney will remain as a special consultant through the end of 2020 and then retire after 46 years of UPS service.

On September 30, William Johnson, UPS Lead Independent Director, will assume the role of Non-Executive Chair.

US – Tenneco has announced the appointment of Roy Armes to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Additionally, Director Roger Porter has announced that he will not stand for re-election at the 2020 Annual Meeting.

NORWAY – Kjetil Ebbesberg has been named as the new Group CFO at DNV GL, succeeding Thomas Vogth-Eriksen, who will become Director of the Certification Division at DNV GL - Business Assurance. Ebbesberg will join DNV GL on April 1 and take up the Group CFO position as of July 1.

Ebbesberg comes from the position as Executive Vice President, Hydro Rolled Products.

NORWAY – Nor-Shipping has announced Karen Algaard to the newly created position of Director of Nor-Shipping Operations and Strategy. Algaard, who joins from Höegh LNG where she held the position of Head of Contract Management and Controlling, and will now work alongside Per Martin Tanggaard, who assumes the title of Director Nor-Shipping External Relations.

NORWAY – Yara Marine Technologies has announced Aleksander Askeland as Chief Sales Officer, effective since March 1.

UK – Julie Lithgow OBE has announced that she is standing down as Director of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) after nine years of leading the organisation. She will remain in the post until a suitable successor is appointed

UK – Amco Services has announced the appointment of Mark Jones to the newly created role of Operations Director. The appointment sees Jones, who joined Amco in 2016, from Mahle, as Head of Operations, taking responsibility across the group for Amco's UK and Eastern European transport and vehicle fleet, driver compliance and Health and Safety.

WORLDWIDE – Law firm HFW has announced the promotion of six new partners and three new legal directors. Effective April 1, the new partners are Jean-Baptiste Charles – Aerospace, Paris; Jo Garland – Energy and Resources, Perth; William Hold – Commodities, Geneva; Sheshe Evans – Insurance and Reinsurance, Houston; Claire Womersley – Shipping, London; Paul Woodley – Aerospace, London,

The New Legal Directors are Ben Atkinson – Insurance and Reinsurance, London; Caroline Murphy – Shipping, London; Katherine Noble – Ship Finance.
