Schneider Sells US And Chinese Freight Forwarding To Dentressangle

US – CHINA – FRANCE - Norbert Dentressangle, based in Lyon and mostly known in Europe as a full load and groupage operator, is to buy the freight forwarding and customs brokerage business of Schneider Logistics in the USA plus the company’s Chinese operations. The sale encompasses seven locations in the United States (San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Atlanta, New York and Chicago) and two locations in China (Tianjin and Shanghai) and should be completed by the 1st October.

Norbert Dentressangle, founded in 1979 and with 27,000 employees throughout 355 locations in 17 countries owns and operates almost 7000 trucks pulling over 8,500 trailers and has warehouse facilities exceeding five million square feet. Schneider Logistics, part of Schneider National, say they wish to focus on core truckload, logistics and intermodal services.

Dentressangle wish to expand into the US and Chinese markets and will offer employment to all Schneider staff currently working on the sites with all Schneider freight forwarding and customs house brokerage associates in the United States and China becoming employees of Norbert Dentressangle.

Freight forwarding and customs house brokerage clients of the offices involved will be dealt with by Dentressangle as the company seeks to expand their client base, with Schneider Logistics saying the deal will not affect their other international supply chain services, including warehousing, distribution, port drayage services, inland logistics management, supply chain management, brokerage or domestic China transportation services.
