Management Buy Out Becomes Takeover by Rival Group

SWEDEN – SCANDINAVIA – POLAND - Greencarrier Freight Services, one of the largest privately owned logistics groups, has acquired a majority shareholding in Transpoint International, Poland. The deal comes just weeks after Finnish based VR Transpoint sold its shareholdings in the Polish, Czech and Slovakian companies of Transpoint International Group via management buy out. Transpoint in Poland provides cross-border transportation services, delivering parcels and part- and full loads between Finland, Scandinavia, the Baltic States, the UK, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

The Transpoint shares were purchased from the Managing Director of Transpoint in Poland, Mr Arkadiusz Prejna, who will retain the remaining shares. The deal is for the shares of both Transpoint in Poland and its subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The takeover means continued employment for around eighty experienced staff in the Transpoint operation with Peter Nevhagen, CEO of Greencarrier Freight Services International commenting:

“This acquisition is in line with Greencarrier Freight Services’ strategy to be the best transport solution provider having the Nordic and the Baltic Sea regions as its domestic market. Transpoint International is a perfect match for us since Poland has been a white spot on the map for Greencarrier until now.”

Greencarrier Freight Services is part of the Swedish headquartered Greencarrier group which with this new acquisition says it will have a turnover of 175 million euros with more than 425 employees in 13 countries. Arkadiusz Prejna, who will continue in his role of Managing Director of Transpoint in Poland said of the deal:

“Greencarrier Freight Services is an ideal partner for us with its network of offices in our major markets in the Nordic countries, the Baltic states and the UK. Together with Greencarrier we plan a continuous expansion of our business activities not only in road freight but also in ocean and air freight.”
