UK – ‘Sexiest Voice on the Radio’ Sally Boazman, better known as BBC Radio 2’s much loved Sally Traffic, is hosting a one woman show in aid of international development charity Transaid on Saturday 6 March 2010 at North London’s ArtsDepot.

The show will draw upon Sally’s life before and during her time at the BBC where she has worked with some of the most famous presenters in the country including Johnnie Walker, Chris Evans, Steve Wright and Jeremy Vine – sharing tales of famous people she's met along the way, and also revealing some off-air secrets!

Funds raised will go towards Transaid’s work to improve standards for truck drivers and other members of the logistics industry in Africa with the aims of improving the infrastructure of some of the poorest countries in the world through effective commercial development and reducing road deaths in a region of the world where they are the third biggest killer after AIDS and malaria.

Highlighting her passionate support for Transaid, Sally explains: “We are all aware of road safety issues in the UK and I regularly help drivers avoid delays caused by road traffic accidents. However I also feel it is important to support road safety initiatives in the developing world, where the issue becomes even more pertinent as often no emergency services or solid infrastructure exists. Transaid is working hard to tackle these extremely important and often largely ignored problems, and it’s a pleasure to support them.”

Chris Saunders, Transaid’s Chief Executive adds: “We are extremely grateful to Sally for her ongoing support of Transaid and are delighted that she has offered to help in this way to further awareness and raise much needed funds.”

Sally has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Transaid, having supported the charity’s 10th Anniversary Ball in 2008 and also taken part in a journey across Kenya’s Rift Valley as part of the Transaid Cycle Zambia Challenge in 2007.

More recently, Sally provided the voiceover to a short film on the Transaid Bicycle Ambulance Project in Zambia.

Tickets for An Audience with Sally ‘Traffic’ are on sale now at the ArtsDepot website and can also be found via the Transaid site.
