UK – Leading this week’s staff movements for the shipping and forwarding/supply chain sectors is the news that Chief Executive of the Road Haulage Association, Geoff Dunning, has announced that he is to retire from the RHA on August 31, after five years at the helm. During his time leading the association, Dunning helped the RHA to grow into an extremely influential trade association. Although a successor has been appointed, the RHA are unable to announce his (the only known thing revealed) name due to administrative reasons.

THE NETHERLANDS – Ceva Logistics has announced the appointments of former Executive Vice President at Panalpina Hakan Bicil, as Chief Commercial Officer, and Michael Schaecher as Chief Operating Officer, Global Freight. Both will now report to Ceva CEO Xavier Urbain as well as becoming Members of the company’s Executive Board.

SWEDEN – Gunilla Berg has been appointed new CFO of PostNord, replacing Henrik Rättzén who leaves the group to pursue interests outside of the company.

GERMANY – Chief Operating Officer of Rickmers-Linie, Ulrich Ulrichs, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Rüdiger Gerhardt, who became the company’s Chief Administrative Officer, effective since the beginning of the month.

FRANCE – UK – Groupe Eurotunnel has appointed Jean Baptiste Roussille as Co-Director of the Investor Relations Department, where he will work alongside Michael Schuller.

UK – London International Shipping Week (LISW) has appointed Jeremy Penn as its new Chairman of its steering Group. Penn is a non-Executive Director and Treasurer of Maritime London and Vice-Chairman of Maritime UK. He is also the Chief Executive of The Baltic Exchange.

UK – Prohire has announced the appointment of Duncan Turk as the company’s new National Fleet Engineer. He will relocated from his current base in Kenya, where he previously worked for G4S security, to the company’s headquarters in Staffordshire.

UK – The Liberian International Ship & Corporate Registry (LISCR), the US-based manager of the Liberian Registry, has appointed Robert Twell as General Manager of its dedicated London office, succeeding Jonathan Spremulli, who has taken the role of Technical Manager at the International Chamber of Shipping.

UK – CHINA – The John Good Group has announced a series of changes in its senior management, starting with current Sales Director of John Good Shipping and Director of the Group’s main Board Seamus Jennings taking up the role of joint Managing Director. Alan Steadman has been appointed as Director of the shipping arm. Current Managing Director of Trans European Port Services - Hull, Paul Fordon, will also take on the role of Director of Felixstowe Warehousing.

John Good also announced the appointment of Peter Shan as a dedicated UK Trade Manager, based in Shanghai.

SINGAPORE – Chin Yau Seng has been named as the new President of Singapore Airlines Cargo, taking over from Lee Lik Hsin who replaces Koay Peng Yen as CEO of budget carrier Tiger Airways. All effective since May 12.

US – Nitin Kapoor has been appointed to the position of Chief Technology Officer at Echo Logistics. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Products and Services at the Company.

US – The American Trucking Association has announce the appointment of Christopher Spear as its new Vice President and Chief of Legislative Affairs.

US – AmeriQuest Transportation Services has appointed Jared Butts as Director of Sales, reporting to Matt Bogdan Vice President of Sales, Private Fleet and Carrier Division.
