Revolving Door Operates in Shipping and Logistics Staff News This Week

AUSTRALIA – We begin the shipping and logistics staff announcements this week with the news that Jarrod Paterson has joined Virgin Atlantic Cargo as Account Manager – Melbourne, to support the launch of the new Melbourne services by the airline’s Partner, Virgin Australia. Paterson joins Virgin Atlantic after nearly four years with GSA Australia Cargo, most recently serving as Station Manager Victoria.

AUSTRALIA – Global engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Aurecon has appointed Ben Stapleton as Managing Director, Infrastructure.

CHINA – Harld Peters has been appointed as the new President of UPS China, succeeding Richard Loi, who will be retiring after 26 years of service with the company. Peters formerly served as President of UPS West Europe District.

US – Southwest Airlines has promoted John Zuzu to Managing Director, Corporate Facilities, effective since August 1. He most recently served as Senior Director of Corporate Facilities. The Airline also announced Thomas Merritt as Vice President, Technology – IT & Infrastructure Services, effective since August 7. Merritt served as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Technology Operations at Sabre.

US – Alaska Airlines has promoted Shane Tackett to Senior Vice President of Revenue Management and e-commerce, and named Andrea Schneider as Vice President of People.

US – Boeing has elected Caroline Kennedy as new Member of the Board of Directors. Kennedy served as US Ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017 and is an Author and Attorney. She will serve on the Boeing Board's Audit and Finance Committees.

US – Caterpillar has elected Kelly Ayotte as a Member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ayotte is a former US Senator, representing New Hampshire between 2011 and 2017, she served as New Hampshire’s first female Attorney General (2004-2009) and prior to that was a Deputy AG and Chief of the Homicide Prosecution Unit in New Hampshire

US – Workhorse Group has announced Paul Gaitan to Chief Financial Officer, effective since August 9. Gaitan succeeds Julio Rodriguez who takes on the role of Chief Information Officer

NETHERLANDS – Bart Brom, current Director and Business Unit Manager Marine & Offshore at Eekels Technology, will be appointed as the new CEO of Alphatron Marine Group in Rotterdam, effective January 1, 2018. Brom will succeed co-Founder Luuk Vroombout, who will remain at the company as President and as a co-Director. 

UK – Effective in September, Current CEO at Manchester Airport Ken O’Toole, will become the new CEO at London Stansted, replacing Andrew Cowan, who has led the airport since April 2016.

UK – UK Mail has announced the appointment of Peter Fuller, previously COO for Parcels, as Chief Executive Officer, effective since August 1. Fuller succeeded Peter Kane, the company’s Founder and former Chairman, who has been in the role of interim CEO since the business was acquired by DHL in December 2016.
