UK – NEW ZEALAND – Airfreight providers Air New Zealand Cargo shipped six rally cars from London to Auckland for the Brother Rally New Zealand, part of the World Rally Championship (WRC) series and a number of the same cars were then returned to the UK on completion of the rally (presumably those that survived!). Several months of planning by Air New Zealand Cargo and freight forwarder Delivered on Time went into the shipments which were moved on a total of four B777 flights via both Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Among the cars shipped out were the Fiesta RS cars of Ford World Rally Team's Finnish duo Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila along with US driver Ken Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino together with support equipment carried on all the flights. Finlay McArthur, Regional Cargo Manager UK & Europe for Air New Zealand commented:

"This is our second movement of rally cars this year and I am pleased to report that the whole project went like clockwork in both directions. Our dedicated teams at either end of the process were able to ensure that the customer's demands were met and the drivers had everything they needed to compete in this exciting round of the championship".

Delivered on Time had Project Manager Paul Culver liaise with the Air New Zealand Cargo crew who had no doubt gained invaluable experience when they shipped the Proton rally cars of reigning Asia Pacific champion, Alister McRae and team-mate Per Gunnar Andersson from London to Auckland in time for the launch of the 2012 FiA Asia Pacific championship which started on March 30th with the Brother International Rally of Whangarei.
