USA - Pet Airways, an American airline that caters for animal travellers, has had an excellent response since it began flying at the beginning of the month.

In a statement to the Handy Shipping Guide, Alyse Tognotti, the airlines Director of Communications, said that: “Our flights have been full of happy and safe pets the last few weeks. We are delighted with the response we have received by the pet community. We have requests coming in from all around the world to expand our service.

“There is a great need for a safe and comfortable way for travelling with pets. And Pet Airways has accomplished that challenge,” she added.

The airline, which charters Beech 1900 aircraft, serves multiple destinations throughout the US and seems to be a success story in an industry that is suffering heavily in the current economic climate.
