US – UK – The Essex headquartered Woodland Group is firmly established in the American book shipping trade, and in fact claims to export more books from the US than any other freight forwarder having been established in the business for over twenty years. The provision of specialist logistics services to the print and publishing sector has proved a rich niche market for the company which now operates out of US offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as New York where the group has just moved to larger premises.

The 22,500 square foot warehouse facility in Kearny, New Jersey is located just minutes from Newark Liberty International Airport and boasts an in-house Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF), allowing Woodland to offer customers a more efficient and cost-effective service. The facility is headed up by Manager Phil Friend and the company expects the facility to handle at least six million kilos of export air freight in 2015. Adrian Blackman, Executive Vice President of Woodland, commented:

"This move enhances our distribution capabilities in the US and delivers greater efficiencies for our clients. With the opening of our own CCSF, we enjoy total control over our customers' shipments. We build our own airline pallets here in New York and they are broken down by Woodland staff at Heathrow for onward shipment. All shipments are scanned when they enter the New York facility and we offer access to our state-of-the-art web track system, as well as value-added services such as consolidation and order assembly."
