New Road Freight App from German Logistics Giant

DHL Launches Another New Product
Shipping News Feature

GERMANY – EUROPE – Ever keen to stay ahead of the game German logistics group DHL Freight has announced the introduction of another complementary (and complimentary) freight app. Called DHL Activebooking and allows its users to enter and manage Europe-wide orders when on the move from smartphones operating with iOS and Android.

DHL Activebooking is based on the online platform DHL Intraship and allows registered users to generate standardised freight shipments in a fast and convenient way. Apart from the booking option, customers can also print labels directly from their mobile devices or forward labels via email whilst entry orders can also be prepared offline.

The new app complements DHL Activetracing, the mobile extension of DHL Freight's Track & Trace website. It offers an upgraded and uniform way to track shipments across Europe in near real-time. Customers receive up to 30 status information alerts from across the entire transportation chain, from pick-up to delivery. Henning Goldmann, Senior Vice President Business Process Management, DHL Freight explained the reasoning behind the new application, saying:

"In our experience, customers expect mobile solutions and flexible services. With DHL Activebooking they're now able to handle their shipments when on the move. It's a major benefit for companies which manage just a handful of shipments every day, particularly small and medium enterprises."
