CHINA – With its great experience of the Asian market Kerry Logistics has commenced construction of a new purpose-built 33,700 square metre automotive parts logistics facility in Kunshan to service the supply chain of one of its clients for Daimler Northeast Asia Parts Trading and Services Co Ltd., a fully-owned subsidiary of Daimler in China.

The new distribution centre represents a landmark in the two companies relations as this will be the first such bespoke facility for Daimler in the country. Kerry says it is looking to expand its presence in the industrial property investment sector based partly on the belief that China’s automotive market is expected to exceed RMB320 billion in 2012 and investment by foreign auto manufacturers in local production, assembly and spare parts is growing rapidly in order to meet local demand.

Speaking of the latest project William Ma, Managing Director of Kerry Logistics Network, commented:

“The client has demonstrated trust in Kerry Logistics by partnering with us on this project and this also lays the foundation for long-term strategic co-operation between our two companies.”
