New Logistics Contract Means Schenker Trucks Get Lifts Into Europe

Two Year Deal with Family Firm

UK – EUROPE - Schenker Limited, the UK arm of the global logistics services provider DB Schenker, has been awarded a two year contract to handle Stannah Stairlifts European road freight requirements from the UK and the Czech Republic into Germany, Belgium, Holland, France and Poland. Daily movements from the world leader in stairlift design and manufacturing's Andover headquarters will see DB Schenker operating direct trucks into Germany, France, Belgium and The Netherlands.

Additionally DB Schenker also controls all freight out of Stannah's Brno factory in the Czech Republic. Stair of course are often not just a straight run and, as anyone who has been involved with this traffic knows, it requires extreme care in handling some of the convoluted lengths and shapes which go on to make up a customers order, something family firm Stannah have been doing for five generations.

Schenker Limited's Commercial Director, David Harrison commented on receipt of the order:

"We have really taken time to get to know this customer and understand his precise requirements. This combined with our ability to offer innovative solutions such as our new e-booking tool meant Stannah could have total confidence in our all round capabilities. Additionally we have shown them how changing certain distribution routings can save them almost a day in transit to a number of European locations.”

For their part Stannah are were happy to award the contract with Distribution manager Chris Ward saying:

"DB Schenker is providing us with an excellent service and we look forward to working with them on future projects".
