US – BELGIUM – Freight forwarder and third party logistics operator Ceva Logistics , has launched a new guaranteed weekly Less-than-Container Load (LCL) service from Antwerp, Belgium, to New York, US, supplementing Ceva’s already comprehensive LCL offerings which it says have been growing rapidly since the end of 2011. Further direct weekly services will be added from Antwerp throughout 2015, establishing the location as a key hub within Ceva’s LCL and Ocean Freight network.

Ceva says the new service, with a transit time of 11 days, provides faster freight availability at destination and more control over the cargo than previously, with the 3PL offering more dedicated LCL services to provide its customers with a higher degree of visibility and predictability. Ferwin Wieringa, Ceva’s Vice President Freight and Transport Management, Benelux, said:

“The opening of our LCL gateway in Antwerp provides Ceva with a greater opportunity to provide our customers with a wide range of destinations and LCL services. Strategically located in Europe and well connected with our Ground and Air Freight networks, it’s ideally placed as an operational hub. We look forward to further increasing the number of destinations served to allow our customers greater flexibility and choice.”

The new service is via a direct sailing, with door-to-door delivery services also available. Ceva ensures end-to-end tracking to provide customers with visibility of where their cargo is at any point during the shipment. In addition, there is also the option for customers to use the delivery services of Ceva’s road haulage network.
