WORLDWIDE – DHL have unveiled three new air express routes between Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. The routes are being served by AeroLogic, the joint venture cargo airline of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo. Hong Kong will see a next-day express service to Europe through early bird connection to Leipzig, Thailand is now connected into the Europe-to-Asia route, and a Brussels to Bahrain service provides additional capacity from Europe to one of DHL’s key markets in the Middle-East.

Following the delivery of AeroLogic’s 7th Boeing 777F aircraft, DHL Express launched an earlybird connection from Hong Kong to Leipzig on Monday last week. The new addition enables the company to now offer westbound DHL Express Worldwide next-day delivery service from one of the most important markets in the world. The company also added the new Bangkok stop to its Leipzig-Singapore-New Delhi route to improve speed of delivery to the important Southeast Asian market. The new Brussels to Bahrain route, which went live on October 12, adds to the existing Leipzig to Bahrain connection and enhances DHL Express’ ability to serve a high-demand trade lane that connects European and American markets to the Middle East.

In line with DHL Express’ sworn strategy to sharpen its focus on the international cross-border express business, the company says its recent investments have targeted network enhancement projects on key trade lanes. It claims trade data for the first half of 2010 confirms a high demand for fast-to-market international transport of cargo on these lanes and DHL Express’ international shipment volumes have continued to grow significantly in the first half of 2010 in a year-on-year comparison.
