EUROPE – Freight and logistics group GEFCO UK has launched a new daily departure and delivery service from the UK to fifteen countries across Europe, with enhanced journey times and cost efficiencies. GEFCO say they have the largest privately owned overland network in Europe and the new EuroDaily service makes full use of this.

The service offers enhanced service efficiency including more direct transits and increased use of the Channel Tunnel giving reduced lead times. Delivery times to Lyon and Toulouse in the south of France, for example, have been reduced by 24 hours thanks to the development of EuroDaily. Manufacturer Federal Mogul is an example of a business that now benefits from the introduction of EuroDaily.

For 15 years, Federal Mogul has relied on GEFCO for approximately 90% of its paid traffic to and from Europe. Dave Eccles, Federal Mogul Logistics Co-ordinator, said:

“GEFCO is extremely professional and provides us with an excellent service – it always goes the extra mile to support our needs. The new EuroDaily service will further benefit our operations and is another example of how GEFCO constantly develops its offering to enhance the service it provides all its customers. We will continue to use GEFCO for many years to come.”

GEFCO, picked up the BIFA European Logistics Award in January for the second year running and UK Managing Director, Alain Vignon enthused about the new service saying:

“GEFCO’s network success relies on well structured domestic coverage, strategically located international gateways and bilateral country-to-country links. Our new EuroDaily service builds on our success and network growth to offer an even faster and more efficient service, with reliable and secure solutions along the entire supply chain.

“By reaching wider markets faster, we are able to meet the changing demands of all our clients. And by making full use of our network capabilities, we are also able to bring greater sustainability and stability to our operations.”
