SOUTHAMPTON / CHANNEL ISLANDS – Channel Island ferry and freight operator Huelin – Renouf are to increase their number of sailings from Southampton to the Islands from three to five a week. The increase is in response to an upsurge in trade that the firm has experienced since they moved to a custom-built facility from Portsmouth less than a year ago.

To accommodate the expansion Huelin - Renouf will sail a second ship, the MV Huelin Dispatch, on the route. The new vessel will have an extra 30% capacity over its predecessor of the same name.

Chief executive officer Keith Renouard said: “We believe now is the right time to do it. There’s only one daily service to the islands and that’s Condor out of Portsmouth. Now customers have another option.”
