New Boss At Damco Logistics Panama

International Experience will Strengthen South American Operation

PANAMA – After announcing their new Thailand development last month, Damco, the independently managed logistics subsidiary of shipping giant AP Moller-Maersk, have announced that Mr. Edgar Urrutia has joined the company as Country Manager for Panama, replacing the former Country Manager, Mr. Fredrik Grill. Mr. Urrutia brings more than 17 years of experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry to Damco, having worked in Spain, Mexico and Panama for Panalpina. In addition, he is on the Board of Directors of Asociación de Usuarios - Colon Free Zone and Board of Directors of Asociación Panamena de Ejecutivos de la Cadena de Abastecimiento.

Henning Malmgren, President of Damco Latin America says: "Bringing on board a capacity like Edgar Urrutia in Panama, confirms our commitment to this market. We have been meticulous identifying the right candidate as we wanted someone that could take our business to the next level. With Mr. Urrutia we have achieved the right fit. He has superior knowledge of the Colon Free Zone and its dynamics, which will allow us to become even better at assisting our customers with their needs and challenges thereby identifying the right solution that makes sense to their business.”

Mr. Urrutia, who holds a Bachelor Degree in Marketing from Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua (Panama) and an EMBA from Universidad de Alta Dirección (Argentina) and Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Spain), will take up the post immediately.
