UK – The VOX Centre overlooking the lake at Birmingham’s NEC was the scene for last night’s
Multimodal 2016 Awards sponsored by the Freight Transport Association (
FTA) and ably hosted by journalist and author and ex TV reporter
John Sergeant, who gave a typically understated and witty speech to close the evening. A packed room responded well as he regaled the audience with tales of his times as a political reporter.
The main event of course were the Awards themselves and there was stiff competition in all the categories. The full list of winners are:

This last Award was particularly popular, won as it was by a man who has stayed with the same company for his entire career, working his way through ‘the ranks’ and was described in the presentation as ‘a thoroughly nice bloke’.
