UK – The freight industry is gearing up for the annual big exhibition at the NEC Birmingham between 10 - 12 May which has become the largest networking event in the British and Irish logistics calendar. Multimodal 2016 promises to be as important a date as ever this year with seemingly most of the regular stand holders returning for another year and joined by some prominent new faces. Independent freight forwarding group Davies Turner will appear for the first time as will several other notable names.

Now in its ninth year Multimodal has fast become the one event where just about everybody seems to make an appearance, whether to exhibit, meet existing or potential clients, network or just see what the opposition is up to. Philip Stephenson, Group Chairman of Davies Turner, explained why the company would appear this year saying:

“We have decided to make our debut at this year’s event as we have so many developments in air cargo, surface freight and logistics to discuss with visitors. Multimodal 2016 gives us the ideal opportunity to network and discuss the freight forwarding, supply chain management and logistics solutions that we have to offer.

“As we look forward to our 150thanniversary, we will be ramping up our sales, development and marketing activities and visitors will be most welcome at the Davies Turner stand. It’s a golden opportunity to meet our team.”

The success of the exhibition can be judged by the host of returning exhibitors, for example the raft of ports from the UK like Peel Ports, PD Ports, the Ports of Tyne, Ramsgate, Dover etc. all on show whilst DP World London Gateway and Felixstowe are both sponsors, as is the Port of Zeebrugge with Bilbao, Boulogne, Calais, Pasaia (Pasajes) and various others from overseas.

As usual the host of manufacturers and their accredited agents will be on hand to demonstrate the latest products, from trailer seals and fork lift trucks to software systems and packing materials. This plus the always popular seminars makes Multimodal 2016 the place to be for at least one of the three days spanned by the show.
