WORLDWIDE - NETHERLANDS – KAZAKHSTAN – A project freight forwarding contract awarded to logistics provider Agility has been successfully delivered a week ahead of schedule to Atyrau, Kazakhstan on behalf of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, the largest multi-stakeholder organization operating an investment pipeline project in the CIS following a multi modal trip which involved some innovative packing.

In the project’s initial stages, Agility Project Logistics collected and assimilated specialised equipment, often delicate items, from locations around the globe and delivered it to the Flowserve plant in Etten-Leur, Netherlands, where the equipment was then assembled. Breda headquartered Holland Packing then utilised specialised packing methods to ensure safe transit en route to Kazakhstan.

The resulting tunnel-shaped cases, minimized further handling of the equipment as the loads made their way by truck to the Port of Sassnitz in Germany and then onto Russian rail system for the final stage of their journey into the CIS state.

Agility was awarded the carriage contract by the Flowserve Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of flow control products and services to the oil and gas industry and to global infrastructure projects and, following the final 6,000 kilometre transit, the complete shipment, including innovative, high-efficiency pump and seal equipment, arrived in perfect condition at its final destination.
