UK – As the world hopefully gets back to some sort of normality post Covid, there will be no greater sigh of relief than from the 'men with sheds', and if ever there were an outdated description that one must rank highly in these days of gender equality, robotics and autonomous warehouse equipment and systems.

The last time the members of the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) were able to gather for that body’s awards was 2019 and there is a particular relish that the event can return to its former glory on Tuesday 28th June 2022, at The Royal Lancaster London.

The Awards are currently open for entries and the ten categories for which nomination can be made are:

  • Best New Member
  • Young Employee of The Year
  • Manager of The Year
  • Innovation Award
  • Training Award
  • Environment Award
  • Infrastructure Award
  • Best Value Added Services Award
  • Customer Service Award
  • Logistics Service Provider of The Year

There will also be a Chairman’s Special Award, which honours an individual who has made exceptional contribution to the industry. To enter for one of the Awards click HERE. Winners will be announced at the event which this year will be hosted by guest of honour the veteran broadcaster and sometime irreverent journalist John Humphrys.

The UKWA Awards for Industry Excellence recognise extraordinary achievement of individuals and companies operating in the logistics industry. Winning one of these well-established and highly respected Awards will raise awareness of a company’s brand and burnish its reputation in the sector.

In 2019, at the last Awards to be held as a live event, the UKWA made the astonishing vow to collect a record donation for transport charity Transaid in the year, the Association’s own 75th anniversary. That promise was made good by November 2019 in the presence of Patron HRH The Princess Royal when a cheque for £75,000 raised by members was forthcoming, and offers an idea of the status of this event.
