NIGERIA - MDS Logistics, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, is to build a new Lagos hub to cope with the company’s continued expansion.

According Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran, the company’s Divisional Managing Director, the new facility will be a “world-class distribution centre”, and feature 40,000 square metres of warehouse space, 20,000 square metres for vehicle parking, 80 double loading bays and full workshop and servicing facilities.

Located on the Lagos / Ibadan expressway, the hub should be up and running in the next four years and will service MDS’s regional centres throughout Nigeria.

MDS has been involved in the construction of a number of specialist logistic facilities for the pharmaceutical and telecommunications industries in the last few years. Speaking on this Mr. Ogunniran said: “We have responded to our clients needs by providing a national distribution network at the lowest possible cost. This has been made possible through shared resource for customers in large fit for purpose units, seamless high quality service and by relieving our customers of the burden of warehousing, transport and redistribution.”
