Maersk Shipping to Appoint New CFO

New board member will ‘bring extensive international experience’

DENMARK – Danish shipping giant A.P. Møller - Mærsk have announced that they are to appoint Mr. Trond Westlie to the position of the Groups Chief Financial Officer from the 1st of January, 2010.

Mr. Westlie, 48, comes from a position as Executive Vice President and CFO of Telenor Group, Norway. Before joining Telenor in 2004, he was Executive Vice President and Group CFO of Aker Kværner for a number of years.

According to a statement released by the company Mr. Westlie ‘brings extensive international experience within business development and in dealing with external stakeholders, combined with strong management skills.’

Group CEO of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, Nils S. Andersen said: “Trond has a proven track-record as CFO of Telenor and before that of Aker Kværner where he in both cases demonstrated strong leadership and professional skills. He has experience from asset intensive industries and has worked with the offshore and energy sectors as well as shipbuilding and the maritime industry. Trond has a strong background and I look forward to welcoming him to the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group”.

Mr. Westlie says: “The A.P. Moller - Maersk Group is a company with a long and proud history. I look forward to working together with the many talented people in the organisation and contributing to the future development of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group”.
