UK - British fleet operators can now access funding towards the installation of electric vehicle charging points and infrastructure required for other non traditional fuels such as hydrogen and natural gas/biogas stations.
The Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Grant Programme (IGP), a Department for Transport funded initiative, is open to submissions from any company seeking to switch to low carbon vehicles to encourage the take-up of these new technologies.
The deadline for applications for the first funding window is 30th September 2009. However, submissions received after 30th September will be carried forward into the next funding window, which will close on 9th December 2009.
The IGP is administered by Cenex, the centre of excellence for low carbon technologies. The centre will be running information days in October and November for those firms who are interested in changing their fuel types.
Anyone wishing to know more about the funding application should look at the Cenex website or else contact Jay Mistry on 01509 635750 or at jay.mistry@cenex.co.uk
